Abrogate

  • to abolish by official, authoritative or formal action; to annul a formal law by an act of the legislative power
  • Example: The court ruled that the government could not abrogate fundamental rights through executive orders.

Abduct

  • to take away (especially a person) by fraud or force; to induce a person to go from any place, by force or deceitful means
  • Example: The court found the accused guilty of abducting the victim in violation of law.

wreck

  • the destruction or injury to a vessel by being cast on shore or on rocks or by being disabled or sunk by the force of winds or waves or by other accident
  • Example: The plaintiff sought damages for injuries sustained in the car wreck, alleging negligence on the part of the defendant for failing to obey traffic signals.
